"For the price you pay for this, it's a tough bag, and it holds a lot, but it's not completely waterproof. I drove 2000 miles with it, through three thunderstorms, and the contents did get damp -- not soaked, but definitely damp. So, if you're going to use it, I suggest you put items in it that you don't mind being exposed to some moisture, for example, sleeping bags in their own protective bags, sleeping mats (for camping), your tent, etc. Also, make sure the bag is zipped shut and the protective flap covers the zipper. Like securing your saddle before you giddy up, strap this sucker down tight atop your car before you drive off on your next adventure."

"This bag worked really well. We drove over 1600 miles, about 24 hours of driving, over 2.5 days, in rain, wind, sun conditions. The only reason Im not giving this a 5 star rating is that the moisture flap on the front of the bag is not anchored with velcro, like the side and rear flaps that cover the zippers. Every so often the front flap would flip up due to the wind and/or speed of the car moving through the air. If it was raining when that happened, a small amount of moisture would weep through the seam (the front of the bag does not have zippers). Nothing big, but definitely a few drops of dampness. Not sure why the front flap does not have velcro patches to keep the flap down, protecting the seam from the elements (like the zippers are protected). Having said/experienced this issue, I'd still recommend the bag. Just make sure the front of the bag (leading edge) is full with no air space inside and make sure the flap is down and will not flip up in the wind. Expecting our second trip with the bag to have no issues."

"Just traveled cross-country from NC to OR with this and have absolutely NO complaints!! I don't usually write reviews but felt like I needed to as I was so impressed with this product. We traveled over 3000 miles with it, speeds up to 90MPH on the highway, through rain, sun and midwest winds and had no straps break or any real movement of the bag. Everything was kept dry despite the rain, but I put anything that could have been irreversibly damaged by water in plastic bags. I fit 3 carry-on suitcases and few other random items in the bag. There was some noise associated with it but that could've been because despite my cushioning with towels/blankets, the bag probably wasn't 100% full the more full it is the less noise it makes! My car had a roof rack but no crossbars and did just fine without them!

Before buying this product, I spent hours researching which bag to buy and reads hundreds of reviews before settling on the keeper bag for it's size & affordability. There isn't a single disappointing thing about this product on my end and you shouldn't hesitate to buy this bag if you need the extra space!"
